The Events Coordinator will support all event-related efforts of a 90-attorney, full-service business law firm, including client-facing CLE, networking and other marketing events; internal attorney/staff events; and various social responsibility events. This is a full-time, multifaceted position that requires event-planning experience in a legal and/or professional services context, as well as strong multitasking, project management and communications skills. The Events Coordinator will play an integral role on a small, highly collaborative team and will work directly with attorneys and firm leadership. The position reports to the Director of Marketing but will also work directly with other administrative directors on select projects.


• Plan and execute all firm events (including event strategy; venue research and contract negotiations; food and beverage selection; invitation process; printed materials, etc.); attend events as needed; oversee post-event tracking, analysis and related activities
• Scope of events includes the following:
o Client-facing educational and social events (E seminars, networking receptions, etc.)
o Internal attorney/staff events in collaboration with Marketing, Human Resources and other administrative staff (annual partners meeting, holiday party, etc.)
o Community service events in collaboration with the firm’s Social Responsibility Committee
o Internal CLE programs as needed in collaboration with the firm’s Director of Attorney Recruitment and Professional Development
• Create annual events budget, monitor expenditures throughout the fiscal year and assure payment to vendors and others
• Coordinate third-party sponsorships, including related events, advertising and other activities
• Assist with the strategy, copywriting and design of event invitations and related communications utilizing Adobe InDesign/Photoshop, Vuture and other software as needed
• Contribute to event-related social media efforts for firmwide channels (LinkedIn, Twitter) and individual lawyers as needed
• Assist with content development for event-related press releases, website postings (Drupal CMS), etc.
• Collaborate with PR firm and other external resources as needed
• Coordinate event strategies to support cross-marketing efforts among attorneys and practice groups
• Assist with the firm’s client feedback program as needed
• Input and update contact information utilizing the firm’s CRM database (InterAction) and assist with the compilation of distribution lists for event invitations and related communications
• Work with vendors to produce promotional items, seek competitive pricing and manage inventory as needed
• Perform other related duties as needed/assigned


• Undergraduate degree in marketing or another relevant field
• Minimum three years of experience in event planning; law firm experience preferred but professional services and other relevant experience will be considered
• Excellent organizational and communications skills, along with impeccable attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills and confidence in working with attorneys and other professionals at all levels
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing/competing priorities
• Client service approach, along with good judgment, tact and flexibility
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member with staff from other administrative departments
• Flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet the needs of the department and the firm’s attorneys, including some overtime
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required; experience with design, email marketing and CRM software preferred
