Seyfarth Shaw has an exciting opportunity for an experienced recruiting professional to help implement the recruiting strategy for the Firm, as part of a broader investment the Firm is making in its recruiting, professional development and talent management functions. Seyfarth Shaw has more than 900 attorneys in the U.S., London, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Sydney and serves as a national platform and an international gateway to serve the changing business and legal needs in litigation, employment, corporate, real estate and employee benefits.
The Legal Recruiting Manager will oversee recruiting and hiring for all lateral attorneys in Chicago and Houston and work directly with the Recruiting Team, Department Chairs, Office Managing Partners and Hiring Partners This includes actively and creatively using a wide variety of methods to source attorney candidates, including job postings, internal referral program, websites, networks, diversity organizations, career services offices, and search firms. This position will manage candidate resume screening, interviewing, and offer process. The manager will facilitate the due diligence process, including review of lateral partner questionnaire, conflicts review, reference checks, background checks and presentation of partner candidates to Firm Management. Additional responsibilities include fostering relationships with local law schools and managing our Summer Fellow Program with the Senior Recruiting Coordinator for the assigned offices. This role will collaborate with the recruiting team, talent development team, diversity action team, office administrators and other administrative departments to further firm-wide initiatives and promote best practices. There will also be opportunities for developing marketing materials, website content, and legal recruiting budget.
Possess excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills, an ability to meet deadlines while handling multiple and shifting priorities, and the ability to communicate effectively with others. Flexibility to adjust hours to meet operating needs is required.
Be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of responsibility, and will be proactive and a self-starter.
Have the ability to analyze recruiting trends and implement strategies to best directly source lateral candidates.
Be comfortable overseeing the interview process, communications and databases.

viRecruit, WorkDay, or other applicant tracking system experience is preferred.
Have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of law firm recruiting experience, including the demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of high-volume legal recruiting programs, including lateral attorney sourcing and hiring; law student on-campus recruiting; and the summer associate program and event planning.
